Something quiet happened this year, and if you live here you probably felt it before you named it. For the first time in a decade, you can plan a full summer of Friday and Saturday nights without leaving the 93010. The Ventura County Greek Festival, which spent ten years hosted somewhere other than its own parish, moved back to St. Demetrios on Ponderosa Drive. That single relocation is the tell. Camarillo's summer calendar is finally dense enough that the town has stopped exporting its own weekends.
This is a resident's guide, not a visitor pitch. Below is what to actually put on the calendar, which new tables are worth booking between festivals, and where the season's center of gravity has shifted.
The Ventura County Greek Festival runs June 26 through 28, and after a decade of hosting the festival offsite, the organizers moved it much closer to home at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Camarillo. The event offers Greek cuisine, cultural performances, and free parking with shuttle rides in, since parking is not available at St. Demetrios itself.
Read that sentence twice. A festival that had outgrown or outpriced its home venue is back inside city limits. The practical upshot for residents is small and specific: a summer weekend of loukoumades and folk dancing that used to require a drive now requires a shuttle from a nearby lot. The broader signal is that the infrastructure for large gatherings inside Camarillo has finally caught up with the demand.
The 4.5-acre historic property at 201 Camarillo Ranch Road has quietly become the town's default event grounds, and this summer it hosts three of the season's anchor dates.
Start with the recurring one. The Camarillo Ranch Foundation is bringing back the Throwback Thursday Food Truck Festival on one Thursday of the month in June, July, and now August, with food trucks, craft beer, wine, and tours of the house. The August addition is new this year. If you have not walked through the ranch house on a food-truck night, that is the version to try first because the tour is included in the ticket.
Then the big one. The 39th Annual A Taste of Camarillo Wine, Brew & Food Festival lands on Sunday, July 26, 2026, on the historic grounds of the Camarillo Ranch, bringing together restaurants and beverages from across Ventura County for an afternoon fundraiser. Golden Taste admission runs noon to 4:30 p.m. and general admission runs 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. In 2024-25, Meadowlark Service League raised and distributed $315,000 in grants to Ventura County charities, including 15 scholarships for graduating high school seniors and continuing college students, largely through this event and its spring counterpart. That is a meaningful number for a single-day garden party thrown by a volunteer service league. Put another way, roughly $315,000 in local grantmaking depends on Camarillo residents actually showing up to a picnic.
One earlier date sits outside the ranch but belongs in the same conversation. The Casa Pacifica Angels Wine, Food & Brew Festival returns for its 33rd anniversary on June 7, featuring restaurants, caterers, bakeries and specialty shops from Santa Barbara down through the Conejo Valley, alongside wines and craft brews. If you only do one large tasting event this summer, pick between Casa Pacifica in June and Taste of Camarillo in July based on whether you want the wider regional roster or the hyper-local one.
The free concert series is the backbone of a Camarillo summer, and the 2026 lineup leans heavily on tribute acts that punch above the price tag.
Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District and the City of Camarillo present the 2026 Summer Concert Series with free concerts at Constitution Park, 601 Carmen Drive, and admission is free. Concerts start at 7 p.m. Residents are welcome to bring low folding chairs, blankets, and a picnic dinner, food trucks will be on site, and seating is lawn-only on a first-come, first-serve basis. On-site parking is limited and reserved for cars displaying handicap placards until the lot is full.
Two acts worth flagging from the roster:
Practical note for parents and dog-walkers: the concerts run Fridays across a stretch that begins June 27 and closes August 8, according to the PVRPD schedule. Arriving at 6 with a blanket is a different experience than arriving at 6:55.
If you have out-of-town family visiting once this summer, aim them at the third week of July.
Camarillo Old Town Heritage Days Midsummer Fiesta runs Wednesday, July 15 through Sunday, July 19, 2026, with local food vendors, live music, art, a car show, carnival rides, and beer gardens for guests 21 and over. Metrolink stops in Old Town Camarillo, which is the smarter way in on Saturday night if you'd rather not hunt for a space near Arneill Road.
That same week bleeds into a smaller but locally relevant event. A FIFA World Cup third-place and final match watch party is set for Dizdar Park in Camarillo on July 18 and 19. A public park watch on the same weekend as Heritage Days is the kind of programming density Camarillo did not previously have.
The dining shifts in the last twelve months matter because they close the gap between "we should go out" and "there's nothing new to try." Here is what has opened or is about to.
At the Camarillo Town Center, Stephen's Grill is opening a second location at the former Souplantation at 375 W. Ventura Boulevard, specializing in Greek and Mediterranean specialties, soups, souvlaki, entrees, hot sandwiches and deli sandwiches, drawing on the family's Ventura market that carries products from Greece. If you have been to the Main Street original in Ventura, you know the sandwich program is the reason to go.
Around Old Town, a few smaller openings deserve real attention rather than a passing mention. Luv 'n Eat Ramen has recently opened with ramens, appetizers, rice bowls, and salads. There is also a new coffee spot in Old Town Camarillo sourcing local beans, offering teas and pastries, and rotating a small gallery of work by local artists and students. On the pizza side, a new shop is coming to 2390 Las Posas serving pizza, crispy slices, fresh pastas and wings.
Out at the Camarillo Premium Outlets, the mix is turning over faster than it has in years. A modern restaurant and bar has opened at the Outlets serving California Fusion cuisine from award-winning chef Alex Castillo. A Chick-fil-A opened at 670 Ventura Boulevard as Camarillo's first location, operated locally by Thad Ewing, serving Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. And the pipeline is not empty. A Texas Roadhouse is planned for the Promenade at the Outlets next to Finney's Crafthouse, which will be the chain's first Ventura County location.
Two takeaways from that list. First, the Outlets have become a legitimate weeknight dinner destination rather than a lunch stop wedged between shopping. Second, Old Town's food identity is drifting toward the small, chef-driven end of the spectrum: ramen, sourced-bean coffee, a neighborhood pizzeria on Las Posas. Those two ecosystems no longer feel like the same town's dining scene, and that is a good thing for anyone who has lived here long enough to remember when it was.
If you can only pick four things: Casa Pacifica on June 7, one Throwback Thursday at the Ranch in July, Heritage Days on the weekend of July 18, and Taste of Camarillo on July 26. Everything else is a bonus round.
The reason to write the calendar down now is not fear of missing out. It is that Camarillo's summer schedule has quietly converted from "a few reliable events" into a real weekly rhythm, and the residents who plan for it get the best of it. The residents who don't will still enjoy stumbling into a Constitution Park Friday, and that is also fine.
