Hollywood Beach
A peninsula with the Pacific Ocean on its West and the Channel Islands Harbor on its East, the Hollywood Beach community is comprised of residential homes, an elementary school, and one retail block that offers dining, retail and real estate services in Hollywood Beach. Real estate includes approximately 480 single family homes and about 300 condominium and duplex units. Hollywood Beach Elementary School is an award-winning school for kindergarten through sixth grade, and it is in the Hueneme School District. The Hollywood Beach Café opened in 2016 offering breakfast, lunch and afternoon appetizers and cocktails, replacing the famed Mrs. Olson’s Coffee Hut, an area staple, which moved about a quarter mile away to the Channel Islands Harbor.
Hollywood Beach is an idyllic beach community, where residents and visitors meander down Ocean Drive or take their dogs to the beach. Collecting sea glass, surfing and watching the sunset are popular past times here.
The beach itself is deep, offering a wide sandy beach area between the oceanfront homes and the shoreline. Lifeguards are stationed on the beach from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Sunsets are gorgeous year round, but are known to be especially spectacular and colorful in the autumn and early winter months. On Sundays, many residents cross Harbor Boulevard to enjoy the Channel Islands Farmers’ Market.
